"OUR BIG HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE"
This house really wants to be a cottage style house! I know a lot of you ladies understand when I say that a home can speak to you. We are here in cowboy cuntry, but there WILL BE a cottage on the plains!
This is a 60's home and we are remodeling from top to bottom! I am so into shabby chic I painted and distressed all of my new kitchen cabinets white. Heavy distressing! We bought a 100 year old bar from the 1800's that was going to be demolished and turned it into our island. It was solid mahogeny and I painted it Ralph Lauren barn red and distressed it also.
The pantry door came from Home Depot and was unfinished. Of course, I painted it and distressed it!
I love to use old architectual salvage pieces in our home! It gives so much interest to your home!

"Our Bathroom"
The 2 pictures you see about is our small half bath. It used to be an old grungy closet. We gutted it and I used an old dresser I purchased at a garage sale for $15 and dropped a peonies and ivy sink into it. The sink was expensive but togethar it came out about the same if we would baught a vanity and sink. As you can see, it isn't finished yet. It still needs to be hooked up.
This is something anyone can do. It's a lot more fun than buying new stuff. Especially for a half bath. Another idea would be to use large anitque bowls and set on top of an old buffet drill a hole for plumbing and use that for a sink or maybe even an old galvanized round tub. Anything goes!
